The BVA’s chief interests are
- the standards of animal health and welfare
- veterinary surgeons working practices
- relationships with external bodies, particularly Government.
The BVA carries out three main functions:
- developing and delivering policy affecting the profession;
- promoting and protecting the profession in matters promulgated by government and other external bodies
- provision of services to members
